  seriously, it’s a romance?
  darn — I got excited about a new ‘old’ series.
  I wish they’d segregate the romances somehow on this site. I understand the genre is popular but there are so many romance uploads it’s making all the other categories hard to find. Browsing has become a nightmare. Thank you.

  Finished the first of the series — it has pronounced romantic elements but it is definitely not a romance in terms of genre. (sorry romance fans).
  If you too hate romance, it’s only a minor annoyance, no worse than an occasional bit of static you can skip past without losing any plot. The passages were brief so I mostly didn’t bother, but for plot reasons I won’t give away here, they’ll likely crop up more frequently as the story progresses.
  Still, the story’s a good one so presuming it doesn’t go straight downhill, it’s probably worth your while even if you ordinarily far clear of romance novels.
  But please don’t change the tags — you’ll scare off horror / sci fi / zombie fans — I wouldn’t have tried it!
  BTW — it’s not typical zombie fare either. Yes, there’s the occasional horrific image but mostly this falls into the post-apocalyptic, prepper / survivalist territory … finding an identity, learning what you’re made of, the ability to change, etc.

  I almost skipped it, too much romance, FEMA-paranoia or bible-pushing is a big apocaboner-killer for me. But a bit is fine, if the story is worth it, so thanks for posting your take with some relevant details.
