First I’d like to thank glenne3 for all the excellent Stephen King books they’ve been uploading recently. One of them was the source for this torrent.
I started listening to Gerald’s Game but found myself hating the intrusive music jingles inserted in increasingly random places.
To make matters worse, Lindsay Crouse gets very shouty in places so I was constantly worried about waking the rest of the house.
To fix this I went though and deleted all the music which had no narration over the top, meaning it could be cleanly removed. I reckon about 70% of the music is now gone.
I then compressed and limited the dynamic range so the shouting isn’t so loud and I ran some noise reduction on the background rumble.
Finally, I hate 75 minute CD length chapters, so I split each of these into 25 minute chapters.
I think it’s now much less objectionable & now I’ve done the work I might as well share it.

Thank you. It took me two decades to finally get into this one. I could never read it for some reason. I tried and tried. Couldn’t even listen to it.
It seemed off. I even thought it may have been written by someone else when I first tried reading it. The rhythms were strange to me.
Coincidentally, a couple of years ago, while on a King binge, I listened to Dolores Claiborne right before trying Geralds Game again. I had no idea they were originally supposed to be one novel called “The Path Of The Eclipse”. Very cool. Turns out that this one is one I really ended up loving.

Thank you for all of your hard work. Around 1994 or 1995 I had a cassette version without music. The narrator was not Lindsay Crouse. The cassettes died, as usual.
I was thrilled to find this story on audible.com in 2016, but gave up listening because of the over-used music.

I always have to chuckle a bit when people call for seeders. If you think about it even for one second, you realize how it makes no sense.
If someone downloaded this, then deleted their torrent, they can’t go back and restore the deleted torrent and start seeding it again. So all the pleas of “please seed” are quite silly.
It’s unfortunate that people are guilty of “leeching” [downloading a torrent and immediately stopping or deleting it without contributing upload bandwidth (seeding)]….but we all know that, present company excluded, people suck.

Just a note, the chapter markers are apparently random because just pick up the physical book and go to the audiobook and go to a chapter marker, they don’t match.
